Yeah,the title is a hat-tip to the Shriekback song, "Gunning for the Buddha", but I did climb those 258 steps up to the Big Buddha today on Lantau Island.
The mix of commerce and a tiny bit of reverence is disturbing but the spectacle is...a spectacle.
After a breakfast for 2 that = about $5 US, we were ready...

All of this was included in the price of the museum ticket except for the fake meats which only added another $3 US to the total...
After cynicism took over my outlook, I turned and caught the sun breaking behind the Buddha's head and I remembered what I wanted to see all along...
