A Quiet New Year's Day in HK

Maybe I'm running out of time, money, or energy? I just didn't feel like doing much today and I don't think I have much of a hangover from my few drinks last night -- though that champagne was rough going down.

I'm near enough to the end of my trip to be a bit sad and at the same time ready to get the long and tedious voyage home over with.

It's like having a tooth pulled; you know it's going to be painful but you just want to be done with that pain and then heal.

I bought groceries and will probably go out for dinner and to see some friends later tonight but, for now, here's some shots I took today.

A hearty Vietnamese feast today...

I don't know if you can tell but that's a Burger King and a Starbucks across the street from where I'm eating my Vietnamese lunch. This is the perfect vantage point from which to view American fast food here in HK...

Just like New Year's day last year, there was some New Year's Day protest. I think it was a protest. Maybe it was some memorial or something?

This is near my hotel in case I need to stock up before I go home. Maybe I should get some stuff for achillesgirl?...
