I got this book for a ridiculously cheap price today. I guess it helps to shop at the same great used book store (Silver Spring Books) for nearly 20 years.
After yet another wonderful meal at Mandalay Restaurant in Silver Spring with a certain fellow blogger -- Friday is our usual blogger confab over delicious Burmese cuisine, the meal of the week where I gladly go vegetarian, by the way! -- we swung into Silver Spring Books and Dan let me have this book for a steal -- trade secret on the actual price.
A Selective Collection of Hong Kong Movie Posters, compiled by Lo Che-Ying, covers Hong Kong film posters from the 1950s to the 1990s and it was published by Joint Publishing (H.K.) Co., Ltd..
Odd that I get this book on a day when I sold more of my Shaw Brothers DVDs -- hey, I'm keeping 73 of them!
It's a lovely book that covers FAR more than the Shaw Brothers releases in its 100-some pages.
Visit Dan and the other fine sellers at Silver Spring Books on Bonifant Street and then have lunch or dinner at the always awesome Mandalay Restaurant!
