Hailing from NYC, The Babies bring us a new collection of demos and outtakes called Cry Along With The Babies on New Images.
This is decidedly lo-fi stuff -- naturally -- but even a demo like the lovely "Trouble" has a sense of melody and gentle momentum. A lilting tune like this recalls predecessors like Young Marble Giants, Unrest, Yo La Tengo, and The Feelies.
The band is currently on a U.S. tour with Real Estate.
