Lorelei And The Babies Raise The Roof At D.C.'s Comet Ping Pong

Despite some early sound problems and a bit of illness on frontman Matthew Dingee's part (according to his on-stage patter), D.C.'s own Lorelei delivered a really excellent set at Comet Ping Pong in D.C. tonight.

Dingee, Stephen Gardner, and Davis White played a few cuts from their great new record Enterprising Sidewalks, out now on Slumberland Records.

In addition to those sleek and supple new cuts, the band delivered a shattering version of "You Cheat Yourself Of Everything That Moves" by The Verlaines.

The Babies put in a strong set in support of their new record Our House On The Hill. Some sound problems marred The Babies' set too but nothing horribly noticeable -- they sounded great to me.
