I got my hands on the album late last year and I kept playing it over and over all winter. Then I reviewed Velvet Changes in January and tried to express how much I genuinely loved the album from Phil Jones AKA Dog Bite.
Now he's back with a new track called "Lady Queen" and it's a strange, haunting swirl of Joy Division and all the bands that fell at Ian's grave. Dog Bite manages to make music that echoes that seminal Manchester band without seeming cheap or goth. Phil somehow gets things down to the elemental bits of that sound.
And that's to say nothing of how much he sometimes sounds like the best (earliest) A.R. Kane.
The easiest way to get "Lady Queen" is to check out the Dog Bite Facebook page or the indieATL Facebook page.
