I am a big fan of Dog Bite's music, especially his 2013 album, Velvet Changes, so I always get a little excited when I learn that there's new music coming from Phil Jones, AKA Dog Bite.
"Georgia Souls" expands upon what Dog Bite does so well by adding a sprightly, near-jazzy coda to this track. Despite referencing Jones' home state in the title, the song sounds remarkably like a whole string of Manchester, UK, bands: (early) New Order, Durutti Column, and A Certain Ratio in that flash of lightness that closes the cut.
Dog Bite will be featured on the upcoming 16th anniversary compilation from Carpark Records. The compilation is due in a few months. Details on that here.
