The new EP from Alison Sudol, Moonlite, is the artist's follow-up to her Moon EP last year. The singer, who is also an actress who's appeared in those Fantastic Beasts films, makes electronica that owes a lot to early records from Goldfrapp and even earlier ones from Laurie Anderson.
"The Runner" is bright and cinematic, with keyboard washes giving this a big sound, while "Enough Honey" is more mellow and introspective. "I.C.U." is the clear standout here, a nearly-pop song that seems a natural extension of the kind of material that Sudol made in A Fine Frenzy, her old band, while "If Patience Doesn't Kill Me" is spacious and stark, and a darn fine showcase for the singer's striking style of vocals.
Moonlite is out now, with more details available on the singer's official website, or her official Facebook page.
