I Sold My Soul On Ebay: Heads Up About New Single From Swansea Sound (Heavenly & Pooh Sticks Collaboration)
We don't usually cover singles here but, frankly, what better way to start off 2021 then by up-ending expectations? The same could be said of Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey of The Catenary Wires. The duo's been busy the last year or so, releasing a new Heavenly compilation, digging up a lost video to promote same, recording a record with a poet, and finding time to work with Steve Miles in European Sun. Somehow, amid all that, the two hooked up with the legendary Hue Williams of The Pooh Sticks to form Swansea Sound. The group's dropped a few singles so far but this latest one is the best yet.
"I Sold My Soul on eBay", bursts with energy, and wryly chronicles how the internet can make us sell ourselves, even virtually. It's a fun record, and a smart one. And, in a clever bit of business, the only vinyl copy will indeed be auctioned off on eBay to the highest bidder. Good thing there's also a way to buy this digitally. This song will, blessedly, not be on Spotify and a few other sites, so buy it via Bandcamp now while you can. And prep yourselves for more Swansea Sound music soon in 2021.
