Leave Me Where There's Light: A Word About The Return Of The Boo Radleys

Legends of both shoegaze and Britpop, The Boo Radleys are somehow back with us. Simon "Sice" Rowbottom, Rob Cieka, and Tim Brown are carrying on without Martin Carr. And while some of us might raise an eyebrow at the possibility of doing that, I'd say that this new single is proof that there's magic in the power of these three, at least, being together again.

"A Full Syringe and Memories of You" is a majestic slice of indie-pop that would have sounded perfectly at home on Side Two of Kingsize (1998). And for those of us who know, that album was a criminally underrated masterpiece. Well, hell, everything the Boos touched was, wasn't it? This new one is stately and full of both resignation and hope in Sice's familiar vocals. When he sings "Leave me where there's light...", the spark is back, and doubt removed. This is enough of a hint that more greatness is coming from these folks. Here's hoping it's soon.

"A Full Syringe and Memories of You" is out now on various platforms.
