Always On My Mind: Heads Up About New Video And UK Tour From The Catenary Wires (Heavenly, Talulah Gosh)
As things inch towards normal, bands are heading out again, and if you're in the UK, you should try to see The Catenary Wires on their tour starting tonight (September 3) in Bristol. The band's riding high following the release of their latest superb record, Birling Gap. With help from newer members of the band, The Catenary Wires' sound has been expanded too.
"Always on My Mind" is a bouncy bit of business, a gently sentimental number that possesses a melody that's one of this outfit's best. The cut really blossoms in this new video thanks to the contributions of Andy Lewis on bass (ex-Spearmint/Weller Band), Fay Hallam on keyboards and backing vocals (ex-Makin' Time), and Ian Button on drums (ex-Thrashing Doves/Death In Vegas). The combined easy force of those players behind Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey makes this one, especially in this video version, a real gem. Even if you know the version on Birling Gap, you should check out the rendition in the video below!
