An Offer To Off Me: A Brief Word About The New Single From Laurel Canyon

If you've been following along here as I write about the recent singles from Laurel Canyon, or even earlier, with stuff from The Yetis (Nick Gillespie's old band), you'll likely be going in to this new cut NOT expecting grunge. I know I wasn't, but more on that in a minute.

"Victim", the new number from Nicholas Gillespie and Serg Cereja (with drums by Dylan DePice), finds the band looking in a new direction for inspiration. Previous offerings might have revealed debts owed to Iggy, Richard Hell, or The Strokes, but "Victim" positively surges with Cobain-y energy. Sure, it's got the Pixies-thing down too, yeah. Anyway, "Victim" is brutal and catchy, a heady combination as far as this blogger's concerned. I dig it, and, with four singles out, I'm ready for a full-length from Laurel Canyon.

"Victim" is out now via the link below.
