Fresh from their Zoom album launch of their superb debut album, Swansea Sound are back with a wonderfully peppy bit of video business. "The Pooh Sticks" is all about Swansea Sound singer Hue Williams' old band so he's sort of singing about himself. It's the kind of playful-yet-knowing sort of self-awareness that makes the music of Swansea Sound so compelling and engaging.
The cut is smart and catchy as can be. It's helped by Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey (The Catenary Wires, Heavenly, etc.), and Ian Button (Thrashing Doves). The song appears on Live from the Rum Puncheon, the debut full-length from this indie super-group, and it's a good indication of the kind of tunes you'll find within the grooves of that release.
