VIDEO PREMIERE: "Lucky Night" From bis

The indie kids are older now, but their sonic attack remains as sharp and smart as ever. Ahead of the November release of Systems Music for Home Defence, bis are here to premiere a video for single "Lucky Night" today.

The Last Night From Glasgow album finds bis navigating the spirit of their earlier tunes with more agile approaches to texture and instrumentation. Manda Rin, Sci-Fi Steven, and John Disco are as playful and clever as always, even as "Lucky Night" indicates some nuance in decisions to add the layers of keyboards to the melodic thrust here. The track is disco in the way that late Nineties Kylie was, and bright and intelligent too. The lyrics are pointed and right on the money, but you can still dance to it, you know?

The pep of the tune is matched by the virtual bis dancing in the video. A throwback to Dance Dance Revolution maybe, but also a dissecting of all things metaverse, the vid by thoseEyes is a delight. Play it now and prepare to order Systems Music for Home Defence by bis before it's released on November 18 via Last Night From Glasgow.
