Absolutely thrilled to share with you today some more of the first new material from The Primitives in nearly five years! This one-off single from the band is out on Friday via HHBTM Records, and it's a scorcher. "Panic" is one of the flips and it's as charming as the A-side itself.
Similar in tone and style to "Outside" from Pure (1989), "Panic" bursts with instrumental energy, while Tracy Tracy's vocals are playful and commanding. The poppy power here comes from the Swingin' Sixties melodic heft of the composition, like that of singles from the Big Beat groups, while there's a rhythmic riff carrying this one forward to a special sonic place that should sound familiar to anyone who became a fan of this lot from Coventry back in the Eighties.
