The new single from Derby four-piece Electric Pets drops today and it's a scorcher. "Elephants Can Swim" is a blast of energy, and for those who were fans of this band's 2022 EP, this new track is sure to be a cause for excitement.
Singer Emma Buckley coos and implores over the glam-stomp of the rock-and-roll here, with this one being a really good one to crank loudly. While these musicians earned "early Catatonia" comparisons from these quarters last year, I have to change my description up a bit as this flat out roars into your eardrums. There's a little Slade and Suzi Quatro here and I dig that. I am looking forward to more singles in 2023 from this lot, but for now, enjoy this one!
Electric Pets is Emma Buckley (she/her) on vocals and guitar; Phil Wagg (he/him) on guitar and backing vocals; Pete Darrington (he/him) on bass; and Adam Grace (he/him) on drums. You can get more details via the band's official Facebook page.
