Tracky Wilson of the excellent Turntable Report newsletter is here with her new band, Outer World. Wilson was also in Dahlia Seed and she's joined here by Kenneth Close (her bandmate in Positive No). Outer World is the pair's new project, and there's a new album on the way from HHBTM Records in a matter of months. But first, a taste.
"Forms of Knowing" has a Stereolab-ish sense of how to incorporate Sixties-style keyboards, and this whole number buzzes with a kind of garage rock energy. It's a fuzzy, woozy ride, albeit a brief one, with a wicked guitar hook too. Wilson and Close know exactly how to do this sort of thing, and fans of bands like Komeda may even find this up their alley too. For now, play this and pre-order the album, Who Does the Music Love? now from HHBTM Records.
