In a bit of late-in-the-year good news, there's a new Chemtrails single. "Join Our Death Cult", from the group's upcoming third full-length record, The Joy of Sects, is a brash bit of business. Is that any surprise though, given this lot's previous offerings on the esteemed PNKSLM imprint?
Working with Margo Bloom, producer of the recent Big Joanie album among other winners, has added some new colors to the Chemtrails vibe. This is familiar but bigger, bolder. The sound, a near anthemic wall of guitars, implores as do the lyrics. And one wants to jump off a cliff in England holding hands with Laura and Mia from the band. It's a superb pop-punk tune, and a clear indication that The Joy of Sects will be an album to put on your calendars for January 19.
