Has it really been nearly two years since the first Under the Bridge compilation? That one, which saw Sarah Records-associated bands try to their hand at other Sarah Records bands' songs, is set to have a follow-up in early April.
"Dodge the Rain" features Michael Hiscock of The Field Mice, along with Émilie Guillaumot, to take a ruminative run at this track as The Gentle Spring. The composition is lovely, a folk-tinged hook here pursued with a tentative energy. It's a rather down-tempo way to announce this upcoming compilation, but this selection, in some ways, sounds very much like lots of what drew me to Sarah Records so many decades ago.
Under the Bridge 2 will feature the first new song from The Catenary Wires in years, plus a lot of other great stuff. More details soon, but you can look at the track listing and pre-order via the Bandcamp link.
