So glad to report that Paul Kelly is back and that there's a new album from The Martial Arts on the way. Until then, dig this new single (and the Gorky's Zygotic Mynci cover on the flip)!
"No Victory" is a bouncy, catchy-as-hell number that pulls in a bit of Steve Harley and a little bit of that same indie pop verve that inspired The Supernaturals. It's sonically similar, and the perfect thing to whet your appetite for stuff like this in the same week that sees a new Lemon Twigs album. All that is to say that Paul Kelly is mining the same territory as any of those folks, and was a shoe-in for Track of the Week here, especially given the label (WIAIWYA) and the flip-side cover of Welsh legends Gorky's.
