Legends of U.K. indie Heavenly are visiting America for the first time in decades and that's something to get thrilled about. As the string of Heavenly vinyl reissues via Skep Wax continues, the band will delight lots of fans with these new dates.
After those dates, Swansea Sound, the band featuring Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey from Heavenly along with Hue Williams of The Pooh Sticks, will be playing select shows in the United States. Most of those will see support from the excellent Jeanines, that fab Slumberland Records band. And the D.C.-area show at Quarry House in Silver Spring, Maryland will also feature The Owners, a group with Dante from Grey Matter on the kit! Details on that date are here.
[It is a bit surreal to think that this Swansea Sound gig will be taking place just half-a-block down from where the famed Vinyl Ink stood, a store where I actually bought Heavenly and Pooh Sticks CD's in decades past, and usually from someone at the register who was in a band already or associated with the D.C. scene!]
Swansea Sound will be touring in support of their most recent album, the excellent Twentieth Century. Along with Hue, Amelia, and Rob, the record features Bob Collins (The Dentists) and Ian Button (Pete Astor's band, Death in Vegas, etc.).
Details on any of the Swansea Sound releases or the Heavenly reissues can be found via Skep Wax.
See you in Silver Spring on June 5!
