Everything Is Moving: A Quick Review Of The New EP From Close Lobsters

It's always a nice surprise when the Close Lobsters offer up new music. Given the years the band was away after their late Eighties peak years, that's especially true. They've surfaced again with a new EP on Last Night From Glasgow.

Called Stepping Across, the release serves up three new compositions and two remixes. Of the songs proper, the best is the proto-anthemic title cut. The robust sound here makes the tune soar. The more nuanced "Everything is Moving" shows a sonic link to past triumphs like "I Take Bribes", while the clanging "Verona Poem" should recall the pleasures of "Gut Apprehension" and similar gems from the group's second long-player. The two remixes are worth having, though not entirely essential; it is, after all the three new songs from Close Lobsters which many of us are here to savor and celebrate. So get cracking and click those links!

You can order Stepping Across by Close Lobsters on vinyl, CD, or download (or combinations of the same) at Last Night From Glasgow.
