The extraordinary talents of brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario were on full display in D.C. tonight as The Lemon Twigs rocked The Atlantis. Playing lots of gems from their latest, A Dream Is All We Know, the brothers and bandmates Danny Ayala, on Hofner bass and keyboards, and Reza Martin, on drums etc., thrilled a sold-out crowd.
There were a few new songs sprinkled throughout the set, a cover of a power pop gem by The Choir, a few older tunes from Songs for the General Public, and Everything Harmony, but it was the songs from their latest which were the highlights tonight. "My Golden Years" kicked things off, "Peppermint Roses" charmed mid-way through, and "How Can I Love Her More?" brought the house down later on. And there were more that did too. Brian did "When Winter Comes Around" from Everything Harmony and a few other songs solo at the start of the encore, but the band eventually joined and did a few more for a wildly appreciative crowd.
A Dream Is All We Know by The Lemon Twigs is out now. Details via Bandcamp.
