TRACK OF THE WEEK: "Pale Blue Eyes" By Yea-Ming & The Rumours

I almost never needed to hear this to make it Track of the Week. Given how special the last album from Yea-Ming & The Rumours was, the prospect of a Velvet Underground cover from the group was a genius idea even just in writing. That the resulting track is so lovely and smartly rendered is a bonus.

Yea-Ming Chen is working with the Rumours on the group's new album and is offering this VU cover now as it was just too good to sit on. That was a good idea as this is very special. Fans of the band will love this and find it in the same spirit as the group's most recent efforts on Dandy Boy Records, while new listeners may be drawn to this when I say that it sounds very much like Yo La Tengo when Georgia Hubley is singing. I can think of no higher praise than that.

"Pale Blue Eyes" by Yea-Ming & The Rumours is out now via Dandy Boy Records. Details below.
